Devotion- Dust In Our Lives

DUST IN OUR LIVES

I pray that this devotional can help you in your daily living. :)

In this devotional, we picture dust in our house as sin in our lives.

When we become Christians, God makes our hearts pure and clean. After salvation, we have a choice: continue living for Christ or live for the world. Yes, we all know that everyone sins. Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
What we make, is the choice of whether to sin and also how much we sin. When you are in His will and go to Him in prayer, He will help you with your thoughts, actions, situations, and many more things in your life.
When we sin, we need to go to Jesus Christ and ask Him to forgive us. In 1 John 1:9, it tells us, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Jesus will always forgive us. Just because we know He will always forgive us doesn’t mean we keep sinning and just keep asking Him for forgiveness because we enjoy the sin too much. As Christians, when we sin, we need to ask Jesus to forgive us and stop doing that sin. Jesus can help you overcome your problems and sins in your life.

When we leave the dust in our lives, it gets harder to clean. For example, in our homes, if we let the dust build up on our lamps, it will get harder and harder to clean the dust from the lamps. The light in the lamp will shine dimmer and dimmer as more dust builds up on it. Not taking the time to easily dust the lamp will make the job harder and take more time. The job of the lamp is to shine and give light to the things around it. We need to clean the lamp and let it shine!

We are the lamps, and Jesus Christ is the light. Matthew 5:16 says, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
We need to let His light shine through us. In our lives, Jesus Christ is our duster. We need to ask Him to forgive us and let Him clean the sins out of our hearts. Don’t let the sins, like the dust, cover the light. The anger, fighting, greediness, bitterness, lying, hate, stealing, gluttony, and many more sins will cover the light of Jesus in us. We cannot always stay sin-free. Just as a lamp on a table will, of course, get dust on it again and again and you will need to dust it regularly. When just a bit of dust is in our lives, we should clean it up.

We cannot hide the dust, because God knows everything. In Numbers 32:23b it says, “And be sure your sin will find you out.” Also in Luke 12:2, it talks about how nothing will be hidden: “For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known." No matter how hard we try, nothing can be hidden from God.

 Psalm 139:7-12-
7- Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
8- If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
9- If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea
10- Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
11- If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.
12- Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.”
For a while, we might try to hide the little bits of sin from the people around us. But when our lives get filled with sin, it is visible to the people around us, and it ruins our reputation for Jesus Christ.
If Jesus Christ, in bodily form, came into your house to eat dinner with you, you would not want dust and garbage laying around your house. You would probably want to make your house as clean as you could make it, right? Well, let me tell you, as Christians, God the Holy Spirit lives inside of us. We are the temple of God. If we do not want Jesus in our dirty house, then why would you let garbage and dust come into the place where the Holy Spirit himself lives and dwells within you?

As I conclude this devotional, I would like to just say a few more thing. As Christians we need to keep our hearts clean and pure before the Lord. Life my be difficult, but Jesus Christ will help you through it all; in the darkest valley and on the highest mountain He will be there for you. I love this song that talks about, For the God on the mountain, is still God in the valley.” Please listen to the song.

Stay faithful to Him, and show other people around you who you serve! Don’t let the dust ruin your testimony. Once you ruin your testimony to others it will be harder to get it back. If you are really Serving Christ in EVERYTHING you do, He will help grow your testimony for our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Three Reasons Why Not To Leave Dust In Our Lives:
#1- It will ruin our testimonies for Christ.
#2-  It will lead us down the wrong path.
#3- It will distract us from what God wants in our lives.

Three Reasons Why To Keep Clean And Pure Lives:
#1- We will have strong relationships with Christ and godly testimonies.
2#- Jesus’ Light can shine through us, to people around us
3#- We will live joyful lives.

Don’t let the sin build up in our lives!

Let Jesus clean the sins from your life!

Let the LIGHT of Jesus shine!

Devotion: Part 3- What We Need To Wear To The War — Section 2

Part 3 Section 2: Winners and Losers There are two sections to Part 3. Satan Hates Integrity  The Girdle of Truth  (Eph.6:14) In understanding how integrity can help us defeat Satan, it will be helpful to look at some people in the Bible who were victorious because they put on the girdle of truth. We will also look at others who were defeated because they did not have it on. We will see from their example why the girdle of truth is so important on the battlefield. The first war in the Bible is found in Genesis 14. Abraham became involved in that war because Lot, his nephew, had been captured by the opposing army. Abraham won the war and delivered Lot, but why was Lot captured in the first place? Why was he found in the wrong camp? Because he was double-minded. We find Lot's background in Genesis 13. He was afflicted with double vision —he had one eye on the heavenly city and one eye on Sodom. Genesis 13:10  says, "And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jo...
