Devotion: Part 3- What We Need To Wear To The War — Section 2

Part 3 Section 2: Winners and Losers There are two sections to Part 3. Satan Hates Integrity  The Girdle of Truth  (Eph.6:14) In understanding how integrity can help us defeat Satan, it will be helpful to look at some people in the Bible who were victorious because they put on the girdle of truth. We will also look at others who were defeated because they did not have it on. We will see from their example why the girdle of truth is so important on the battlefield. The first war in the Bible is found in Genesis 14. Abraham became involved in that war because Lot, his nephew, had been captured by the opposing army. Abraham won the war and delivered Lot, but why was Lot captured in the first place? Why was he found in the wrong camp? Because he was double-minded. We find Lot's background in Genesis 13. He was afflicted with double vision —he had one eye on the heavenly city and one eye on Sodom. Genesis 13:10  says, "And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jo...

Devotion: Part 3- What We Need To Wear To The War — Section 1

Part 3 Section 1: The Girdle Of Truth &  The Danger of Doubles. There are two sections to Part 3. Satan Hates Integrity  The Girdle of Truth  (Eph.6:14) Christians are waging a fierce war with Satan. Our Enemy is strong, and his tactics are deceptive. In order to claim the victory that Christ won for us at Calvary, we must stand up and put on the spiritual armor God has given us for the battle.  Let's examine this armor and see how we can use it to ward off Satan's attacks. The first piece of the Christian soldier's armor is the girdle of truth: "Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth" (Eph. 6:14). The girdle that Paul was speaking of here was worn by Roman soldiers. It was not simply a strip of cloth around his waist or even a narrow belt.  Instead, it was generally a leather apron that helped to protect the lower part of his body. The girdle was also used as a sheath for the soldier's sword. What does the girdle of truth illust...

Devotion: Be Ye Perfect

Living our lives the best for the Lord! There is no easy way to be a Christian. Christianity requires a lot of effort, sacrifice, and commitment. The heart of the Christian life is to love the way Christ taught and live. Though it sounds simple, it is terribly difficult. The temptation is to throw up our hands and say, “I’m not Christ! I can’t do things He did!” Still, Christ Himself said, in Matthew 5:48- “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”    How can Christ ask such a thing of us?  Christ never for one minute thought that we would be all the way perfect as God is. He knows that we are imperfect and sinful. He also knows how much God loves us and wants us to grow and be happy. With His help we can find joy and maturity. To assist us, God gave His Word the Holy Scriptures. If we will be dedicated to reading the Bible regularly and do it prayerfully, God will help us to understand it; and through understanding, we will be able to l...

Thought For Today

Being a lukewarm Christian is so dangerous, because you blend in with everybody and impact nobody . I hope this small thought can help you in your Christian life. I would love for you to share this post with your friends and family. Until Next Time…… Sincerely, Nataly Russell

Devotion: Part 2- What We Need To Wear To The War — Section 2

Part 2 Section 2:  Recognize Satan's Tactics. & Depend on God’s Energy. There are two sections to Part 2. Recognize Satan's Tactics. Whenever the Devil finds a Christian who is appropriating his wealth and practicing his walk, he will attack that believer. How does he do it? We learn much about Satan's tactics by examining the different pieces of the Christian's armor. God has designed each part of the armor to protect us from the Enemy's many methods of warfare. Recognizing Satan's tactics and using the appropriate pieces of armor will enable us to successfully defend ourselves in battle. The first tactic that Satan successfully uses against us is division. He knows that if he can divide our loyalties so that we are not concentrating on the battle, then he can defeat us. Satan's greatest weapon is duplicity. That's why Jesus warned us so strongly against leading a double life. He stated, "No man can serve two masters. ... Ye cannot serve ...
