Devotion: Be Ye Perfect

Living our lives the best for the Lord!

There is no easy way to be a Christian. Christianity requires a lot of effort, sacrifice, and commitment. The heart of the Christian life is to love the way Christ taught and live. Though it sounds simple, it is terribly difficult. The temptation is to throw up our hands and say, “I’m not Christ! I can’t do things He did!” Still, Christ Himself said, in Matthew 5:48- “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”

How can Christ ask such a thing of us?

Christ never for one minute thought that we would be all the way perfect as God is. He knows that we are imperfect and sinful. He also knows how much God loves us and wants us to grow and be happy. With His help we can find joy and maturity. To assist us, God gave His Word the Holy Scriptures. If we will be dedicated to reading the Bible regularly and do it prayerfully, God will help us to understand it; and through understanding, we will be able to live more perfectly, the way God intendeds.

Proverbs 4:4-5 says, “He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.”

“Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.”

When we obey God’s commandments, we will live a more perfect life.

Be “perfect” means to, be “complete” “mature” “sound minded” “pure”

All Bible verses are KJV.

I hope you enjoyed reading this devotional. I pray it will encourage you to live how God’s wants us to live.

Devotion: Part 2- What We Need To Wear To The War — Section 1

Part 2 Section 1: Do You Know Your Enemy? Grow Up. Wear All of the Armor. There are two sections to Part 2. Do You Know Your Enemy? Life is a battleground. The sooner you accept this truth, the easier it's going to be to win the battle. Satan is trying to destroy us because we are seated with Christ in the heavenlies. We have all the riches and resources of the resurrected Christ available to us. We are like the people of Israel when they moved into the Promised Land and claimed their victory. When the older generation died, the new generation forgot about God and lost their terri-tory. Why? They did not stand. Grow Up. The Christian life is a growth process. Before we can walk with Christ and run the race set before us (see Hebrews. 12:1), we must first learn how to stand Ephesians 6:11 tells us, "Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." The word "wiles" can also be translated "methods" or "c...

Thought For Today.

Success is not evidence that you are following God and his will for your life. I would love to hear from you about your thought on this post. Thank you for watching the video above. Until Next Time…… Sincerely, Nataly Russell

Devotion: Part 1- What We Need To Wear To The War — Section 3

Section 3: The Soldier's Responsibilities There are three sections to Part 1. As soldiers of Christ, we not only need to be ready for our ongoing battle with Satan, but we also have several responsibilities that we must fulfill if we are going to hold on to our inheritance and fight from victory, not for victory. Our responsibilities are threefold: (1) We must know our enemies;  (2) we must use the equipment; and (3) we must depend on the energy that God provides. Who is the Enemy? Ephesians 6:11 tells us , "Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil."  Paul then went on to describe the Enemy we are fighting: "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places" (Eph. 6:12). Satan is not merely a flesh-and-blood human or a concept of evil; he is a living, pers...
